Top Kid-Friendly Restaurants in Whistler, Canada

You won’t be surprised to hear that Whistler isn’t known as a “foodie” destination.

It’s where serious people go for extreme skiing, snowboarding and well, any other snow related sport.

As islanders, unless we go to Maunakea on Big Island in the winter time, snow is not something I’m used to seeing much of. But, I want it to be different for my kids, which is why my husband and I pick a winter ski destination at least once or twice every year. The kids have gone skiing in Japan which they enjoyed, but for some reason we always keep coming back to Whistler.

Why Whistler, Blackcomb?

Read our in-depth post on why you should spend your winter ski vacation in Whistler Blackcomb.

Where to Stay in Whistler

Every time we visit Whistler, we pick a new accommodation to stay at, so we can get a feel for the place, and of course recommend a larger selection of places to suit every budget.

High End Whistler Hotel: Four Seasons Whistler

On one of our trips, we splurged and stayed at Four Seasons Whistler and oh boy, did we get to indulge. We appreciate the attention to detail that the hotel provides, and in the winter time, the kids absolutely loved coming from the slopes and roasting s’mores at the fire pit and drinking some hot chocolate.

Other recommendations: Fairmont Chateau Whistler, Westin Resort & Spa Whistler

Mid-Range Whistler Hotel: Aava Whistler Hotel

The Aava Whistler Hotel is located just minutes away from Whistler Stroll in the heart of the charming Whistler Village. The location is very convenient and you’re able to get up in the mornings and walk over to the ski lifts. They have junior suites and if you’re a larger family traveling together, two bedroom suites to suit your travel needs.

Other recommendations: Summit Lodge, Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside

Budget Whistler Accommodations

In the past we’ve used Airbnb (click here to get $20 off your first booking) which gives us the opportunity to go to the grocery store and cook our own meals. It’s a great option if you’re on a budget.

Other budget hotel recommendations: Blackcomb Lodge, Whistler Village Inn & Suites, Coast Blackcomb Suites

Kid-Friendly Restaurants in Whistler

After a long day of “shredding” you can bet every single restaurant in the city is packed with hungry guests. During our visit in 2013, it was hard to find a restaurant that served us a memorable meal. And on top of that, dining out is not cheap. A basic dinner entrée can run you up to $30 and a kids meal at $15…that’s expensive!

But, don’t fret!

Now that we keep coming back frequently, one of the things we like to do on top of skiing is trying out kid-friendly restaurants in Whistler. So here’s our list of restaurants where you’ll find great value for your money and, at the same time, a great delicious meal.
